Position Overview:
We are seeking a Vice President, Origination to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be to originate commercial mortgages in BC, Alberta, and Ontario. As an Originator, you will have exclusive access to our managed funds. This role will focus on advancing our position as a leading non-banking lender by proactively originating deals and marketing our offerings. Your main focus will be real estate mortgage origination and building and maintaining client relationships. This position is available in either Vancouver, BC, or Toronto, ON.

–Qualifications:
– Proven strong communicator with an ability to problem-solve, negotiate, and manage conflict.
– Experienced in creating and delivering business presentations and public speaking.
– Postgraduate degree in one of the following disciplines: finance, economics, urban land development, accounting, or business administration.
– Minimum of 10+ years of experience in commercial mortgage lending at a mortgage investment corporation, equivalent, or a major financial institution.
– An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to create flexible financing solutions for borrowers.
– Demonstrate sound credit judgment.
– Ability to provide alternate solutions based on product availability.
– Strong understanding of financial statements.
– Possess a Mortgage Broker License or be willing to obtain one prior to starting the role.
