Director of Finance

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Finance to lead and manage all financial aspects of the organization. The Director of Finance will play a key role in shaping financial strategies, overseeing budgeting and forecasting, ensuring compliance, and providing actionable insights to guide decision-making across the company. This is an essential leadership position that will work closely with senior management to ensure financial stability, growth, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the organization’s goals, objectives, and growth initiatives.
    • Provide leadership and direction for the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    • Partner with senior leadership to drive strategic business decisions, ensuring financial considerations are integrated into business planning and operations.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting, and Financial Planning
    • Oversee the preparation and management of the company’s annual budget, ensuring financial plans align with organizational priorities.
    • Lead forecasting processes and provide analysis on financial performance, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
    • Continuously improve budgeting and forecasting processes to drive accuracy and efficiency.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and dashboards to provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas for investment.
    • Prepare financial reports for executives, board members, and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Cash Flow & Risk Management
    • Manage the company’s cash flow, including ensuring adequate liquidity for operations and investments.
    • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
    • Develop and implement processes for managing financial risks related to credit, liquidity, and currency exposure.
  • Compliance & Governance
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
    • Oversee audits, both internal and external, and ensure that all financial operations adhere to corporate governance standards.
    • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the integrity of financial operations.
  • Team Development & Mentoring
    • Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, career development opportunities, and fostering a collaborative working environment.
    • Promote continuous learning and improvement within the finance department.
    • Manage team performance, setting clear goals, conducting regular performance reviews, and providing feedback.
  • Strategic Business Support
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by providing financial insights, advising on business opportunities, and supporting decision-making processes.
    • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., operations, marketing, and sales) to ensure financial objectives are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
    • Lead or participate in major business initiatives, including M&A, funding, or business expansion strategies.

Key Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role (Director level or higher).
  • Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Experience with financial systems and software, and proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to make decisions that align with long-term financial objectives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, MBA, or other relevant financial certifications.
  • Experience in managing financial operations for a fast-growing or multinational organization.
  • Familiarity with advanced financial modeling, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
